Our company is looking for a senior systems architect who can design, construct and implement new ways of using the latest information technology tools effectively in a research driven government agency. There are several innovations in IT health solutions and we are seeking an individual who can build IT infrastructure and processes from the ground up for a new cutting edge, innovative academic research institution. The institution where the successful candidate will be working is an innovative research driven government agency in need of a technologist. Often times, government agencies get accustomed to following the same processes and using the same technologies, however the specific role of the successful candidate is to assess current processes and technology in place and recommend revolutionary modern more efficient systems and processes to ensure the agency is able to quickly and efficiently respond to public health crisis. The successful candidate will be a technical SME advising government

The successful candidate must be highly technical and able to propose innovative solutions that incorporate the newest most advanced technological systems which are Fed Ramped and approved for use by the security officer(s).

The individual in this position will be responsible for identifying and recommending new technology for the team installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, monitoring and automating tasks for various systems like Multifactor Authentication, Active Directory and Group Policy creation and management.

Demonstrated experience with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)

Monitoring day to day activity and respond to system alerts

Work closely with other IT teams to implement and support innovative new technologies

Work with Director of IT to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues

Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems

Architect, automate, and manage corporate server infrastructure, cloud computing platforms, and enterprise applications

Good knowledge on Operating System (Windows, MAC)

Advanced experience in managing these Windows Server technologies to include SQL Server, System Center (SCCM, SCOM), SharePoint, on Citrix and VMWare and the optimization of these platforms

Experience with configuring Layer 2 and 3 switches to support a virtualized environment and maximizing network performance

Responsibilities for IT systems engineer

·        Manage a development and release cycle

·        Communicate clearly with management, IT staff, and peers

·        Follow direction, but also “think outside the box” and brainstorm new ideas when needed

·        Develop scripts to automate common activities such as removing machines from the domain, adding or subtracting applications post image

·        Demonstrate excellent knowledge and technical understanding of the Windows Operating System and MAC Operating System

·        Provide Tier 3 support on Enterprise Desktop services

·        Create documentation and deliver training to customers and peers

·        Implement, deploy and supporting on-site end-user computer systems and technology solutions

·        Provide technical support for all computer and software packages, which run on the network

·        Approve and administer user accounts, permissions and access rights

·        Software Architecture / Development experience

·        Document architecture

·        Develop system engineering WBS, plan and oversee execution of projects in accordance with budget, schedule, and quality

·        Develop and apply design/engineering documents such as System Architecture, System/Sub-system Design, Interface Control, and System Implementation Guide

·        Conduct/support design and requirements reviews

·        Support Cloud Based Disaster Recovery planning and testing

·        Ensure effective system operations, establishing necessary processes and team coordination

·        Meet or exceed all assigned contractual SLAs

·        Address technology upgrades and refreshment for hardware and software components

·        Assess requirements and allocate them to the functional and technical baselines

·        Responsible for quality, on-schedule completion of all assigned deliverables

·        Draft and implement Firewall Policies

Salary

$100,000 - $125,000 per year
